2010 FlashForward

May 31, 2010

For cultural pursuit there was a walk around the Glasgow Necropolis graveyard, the Baltic gallery with the fabulous Jenny Holzer exhibition, watching the fantastic Wall of Death with motorbikes and a gocart vertically spinning around the circular wall. I worked hard to get my Celestial Navigation certificate (Yachtmaster Ocean Shorebased) and will try to get on an Atlantic crossing next year if possible using my sextant… Lent meant no alcohol, goodies and I went vegetarian – lost a stone in weight for the first time on Lent.

So if you add in work, livestock feeding thanks to a very lengthy winter, a weasel popping up on the lawn, hedge cutting and burning, robot lawnmower back on track after trying to commit suicide, swimming backstroke more, reaching the end of the series of Lost, Ashes to Ashes, Medium, Supernatural and Glee, and of course keeping up with twitter – life has been Flashforwarded this year 6 months.

And I still have to fit in the Brecon beacons, St Cuthberts Way, paddling across the Minch to the Shaints Islands and hence to Harris, paddling around St Kilda, dinghy sailing, possible sail back from Amsterdam to Plymouth and getting my hours in on the microlight – the next 6 months might disappear swiftly too!
